Come Meet Bria and Win One Thousand Gifts!

I’m pleased to introduce you to another new contributor to the Visionary Womanhood blog!

Bria Crawford

Think of Bria Crawford as a cross between Lizzy Bennet and Little Dorrit. She is the eldest of nine children and maintains her sanity with a regular diet of dark chocolate, coffee and good literature. She lives in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, enjoying the tranquil life of farming. Bria’s interests include capturing life with her lens, sewing and creating timeless fashions, raiding the library of all classics, and learning Beethoven. Bria started her education out in a private Christian school and later the Lord called her career mother home and led them to homeschooling. The Lord now has called Bria’s heart home until He brings Prince Charming along. She is doing her utmost to bring glory to God and honor to her father and family.

You can find Bria blogging about one of her passions over at Open Book Reviews, and you’ll enjoy taking a peek at her photography website too!

You will NOT want to miss this week’s series…

Bria is going to kick off her writing stint here by sharing a bit of what God has been teaching her through the recent tornadoes that tore through their town…completely destroying her home while she and  her family and neighbors huddled in their basement.  This just happened a month ago…two weeks after her mother ( one of my favorite bloggers) gave birth to Bria’s baby brother!  I’m so blessed and honored to have Bria here…willing to share her heart with us!  Come back tomorrow for the first installment of Bria’s jaw-dropping story!

Since Bria adores books enough to blog about it, I thought it would be oodles of fun to let her pick a favorite for this Tuesday’s Treasure…and guess what she picked?!

One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp!

This is Providential!  Our Visionary Womanhood group in the Twin Cities is just about to begin reading through this book for our summer reading challenge!  So how about that?!  If you don’t already own this book, you will most definitely want to get your hands on a copy.  It is one of those deeply moving, life changing books that you never forget.  And if you already own a copy, you will still want to enter the giveaway…because this book is the PERFECT gift!  I have already given away a copy to a loved one…and was going to give more to some other relatives…but the recipient of the first copy ended up giving the other ones a copy before I could get to them!  That’s how “viral” this book is.  And I promise…this is one virus you want to catch and give!

So here’s how to enter:

  1. Leave a comment to encourage and welcome Bria to our little community here!  This counts for one entry.  Would you like to enter more than once?
  2. Get a friend to enter!  Leave a comment letting us know which “comment-entry” is your friend! Would you like to enter even more times?
  3. If you haven’t already “liked” VW on Facebook, do so!  OR you can become a “follower” via Google Connect OR you can sign up to get the VW posts conveniently sent to your e-mail in-box!  Any of these counts as an entry.  All you need to do is leave a comment letting us know what you did.  And if you have already done all three of these things in the past but wish you could enter a third time….
  4. Introduce a friend to VW and our giveaway.  If they “like” or “follow” or sign up for the posts…YOU let us know…and that counts as a third entry for you…plus they get entered as well!

Commercial Break

I realize it may appear to be shameless to ask for “likes” and “follows” if you are new to the blogging world.  But really…this is normal stuff.  And we’ve been sitting at 25 “likes” for…forever.  Makes us look kinda dorky.  Not that it’s BAD to be a dork.  But human nature is such that if a new person visits a blog and sees that it only has 25 FB “likes”…it doesn’t matter how great the blog is…the person thinks, “nobody is real crazy about this place…must be run by a bunch of dorks…better move on”.

I know, I know…wouldn’t it be nice to live in a perfect world where everything is as it appears?  But we don’t.  So if you like it here…and  you think it would be beneficial for other women to come and visit…would you give us a “like”?  You know…show you “like” us by “liking” us in a very literal sense.  It’s like sending a big hug.  : )

And now…back to the giveaway.  Does it sound like fun?  It is!

Add some spice to the mix by entering!

The winner is chosen via an online randomizer that picks a number.  The number picked decides which comment entry wins!

I hope it’s YOU!

    Hi Bria!

I love your writings and I love your mom! I was first introduced to you through your sibling blog. It is one of the sweetest things I have ever read. Welcome!

  25. Jamie says:

I liked your website on FB. I would love to win this book. I have been wanting to buy a copy for my neighbors who lost their only son 5 years ago. It took them 11 years to conceive him. I do not believe they are Christians. Our family is currently saving for our adoption so money is tight. But, if I do not win it I will eventually buy it. :-) Thanks for the giveaway.

  26. Vida says:

This sounds like a wonderful book! Thank you for the opportunity to win!
