I’m Molly Evert, one of the writers for Visionary Womanhood. Our family loves listening to audio books! When one of our sons was diagnosed with dyslexia, our need for great audio books quickly outstripped our budget. I searched in vain to find a comprehensive source for affordable, educational, classic audio books in a child-friendly format. When I couldn’t find one, I decided to create one!

My Audio School offers excellent, educational, downloadable audio content on a variety of school subjects in a format that children can easily use all by themselves. Although we originally created My Audio School for kids with learning challenges, anyone who loves a good audio book or fantastic old time radio theater will enjoy these resources.

Classic books, educational old-time radio theater, and historic radio and television broadcasts make My Audio School a treasure trove for parents and students alike. We also provide links to external sites with high quality children’s audio resources, saving you the legwork of finding the best in children’s educational audio.

Want some EXCELLENT, FREE audio downloads? We have unblocked a whole page of resources just for Visionary Womanhood readers. Click HERE and enter the password VISIONARY to unlock character building resources for your kids, a podcast about Visionary Mothering for moms, and some fun old time radio downloads for the whole family! You can also enter to win a free one-year subscription to My Audio School, worth $14.99, using the Rafflecopter below!

That’s right! An annual subscription costs just $14.99, and unlocks the entire website, over 600 audio resources, making My Audio School a truly amazing value. Volume discount pricing is available for schools and homeschool groups. About 15% of the content on My Audio School is unblocked so you can check out our unblocked titles right now!

Children can listen with a click of the mouse, and links are provided to read along online, subscribe in iTunes, or download audios for listening on the go. Every book is thoughtfully “illustrated” with beautiful fine art or appropriate photos. And it is easy to find the content you need, since all the audios on My Audio School are organized by time period and subject matter.

All of the material on My Audio School is available in the public domain, but who has time to find it all? We have spent hundreds of hours finding unabridged audio books, historic news broadcasts and literary radio theater performances so that My Audio School offers an incredible amount of the highest quality educational audio content available in the public domain, all in one safe, well-organized, beautiful spot.

My Audio School is a great tool for Classical and Charlotte Mason educators, kids with reading disabilities, moms who need a break from constant reading aloud, non-readers, emerging readers, busy high school students who “read” on the go, and for anyone who just enjoys listening to a good audio book or classic old time radio program.

My Audio School delivers the best in children’s literature, classic history texts, living science books, inspirational biographies, and much more. I hope you’ll visit us today and don’t forget to pick up your free downloads (password: VISIONARY)!

And now, Jennifer Ross, of Renewing Housewives, is offering her practical, hands-on instructional DVD, Homemaking 101, as well as a discount for Visionary Womanhood readers this week.

I’ve been a homemaker for the past 21 years.  I always knew that’s what I wanted to be.  My mom is “Homemaker Extraordinaire!” Just about everything I know I learned from her.  Thanks Mom!  What I didn’t know is that many women struggle with homemaking; many were never taught even the basic skills.  My heart’s passion is to share the beauty and joys of homemaking with other wives.   So, last year after my husband purchased the equipment to produce films, we made the Homemaking 101 DVD. June Fuentes of A Wise Woman Builds Her Home  wrote up a lovely review for our film:

I enjoyed  this DVD so much, I even had my daughters watch it! She included everything on how to cook, clean, organize, manage, decorate your walls, budget, pay bills and much more. It is so refreshing when new godly movies are made that bless moms in their invaluable roles of helpmeets, and that is exactly what this is! Jennifer lovingly instructs, humbly encourages as she gives us an inside look into the workings of her home. Also featured is  an older “Titus 2″ lady who shares her heart, thoughts and wisdom throughout the entire movie. I am looking forward to to seeing the next parts in the series!  We pray this film will be a blessing to you!

Readers of Visionary Womanhood can buy Homemaking 101 at a 20% discount through November 5, 2012.  Just go to www.familyvisionfilms.com and enter the code: Visionary20 a Rafflecopter giveaway

Our family loves audio books. The children also enjoy listening to them alone during quiet times in their room or on trips. I think they would enjoy the Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. However, they would probably enjoy most. Their Home School English is a Charlotte Mason approach, so they are familiar with many classics.

  19. Connie says:

I love being a homemaker. Yes, I do have moments that challenge me to find “love” in it, but overall, I am blessed to have the calling. It would be hard to name my favorite….I love home schooling my childre;, I love baking and knowing almost everything we consume, I prepared from scratch; I love making my home a “home”….a place of refuge and ministry where all who enter feel the love of Christ; I love being a wife, although challenged to always find the energy after a full day and I love being a mother to the two He has so richly blessed me with.

  20. ~in NOT of~ says:
