I’m Molly Evert, one of the writers for Visionary Womanhood. Our family loves listening to audio books! I searched in vain to find a comprehensive source for affordable, educational, classic audio books in a child-friendly format. When I couldn’t find one, I decided to create one!

I’ve been a homemaker for the past 21 years. I always knew that’s what I wanted to be. My mom is “Homemaker Extraordinaire!” Just about everything I know I learned from her. Thanks Mom! What I didn’t know is that many women struggle with homemaking; many were never taught even the basic skills. My heart’s passion is to share the beauty and joys of homemaking with other wives. So, last year after my husband purchased the equipment to produce films, we made the Homemaking 101 DVD. June Fuentes of A Wise Woman Builds Her Home wrote up a lovely review for our film:
I enjoyed this DVD so much, I even had my daughters watch it! She included everything on how to cook, clean, organize, manage, decorate your walls, budget, pay bills and much more. It is so refreshing when new godly movies are made that bless moms in their invaluable roles of helpmeets, and that is exactly what this is! Jennifer lovingly instructs, humbly encourages as she gives us an inside look into the workings of her home. Also featured is an older “Titus 2″ lady who shares her heart, thoughts and wisdom throughout the entire movie. I am looking forward to to seeing the next parts in the series! We pray this film will be a blessing to you!
Readers of Visionary Womanhood can buy Homemaking 101 at a 20% discount through November 5, 2012. Just go to www.familyvisionfilms.com and enter the code: Visionary20 a Rafflecopter giveaway

LOve listening to audio books with my kids. We use them daily and they either do other copy work , play with engineering/robotic toys /legos or sit quietly( rarely
). Love love love them!! Love Mr. president for sure.
We love audio books! Where have you been all my life, lol?
Our family loves audiobooks and old radio shows. My eldest likely has dyslexia – these resources have been life changing for her. She enjoys listening to learn.
I cannot pick just one! A few weeks ago we listened to the story about Squanto, we will listen to William Tell from James Baldwin’s fifty famous stories next week. This week we will be listening to those related to Martin Luther. Can you tell “when” we are in our history studies? We love My Audio School!
My favorite thing about homemaking is baking and cooking for my family. I love it when everyone asks for seconds!
I think my kids right now would like the fairy tales.
As for homemaking, my favorite is cooking! I love love love everything about it, but I’m hopelessly lost on things like cleaning and decorating
We have been enjoying listening to the retro programs online from Childrens Bible Hour.
My children would like to listen to the Raggedy Ann stories.
My favourite aspect of homemaking is seeing things neat and orderly. The satisfaction of a job well done. (especially the floor:-))
My favorite part about homemaking right now is trying to create a warm, home environment. A comfy home, with aroma’s from cooking or a scented candle. Teaching my girls how to cultivate a home built on faith and memories, and I think that choosing the better portion over messes and “have to’s” is where I am today. Thanks for such a great giveaway!
My favorite part fo homemaking would be the cooking and baking, it gives me such joy to have hubby and kiddos ask for seconds.
The whole family loves to listen to any kind of audio!
I would love to listen to Anne of Green Gables.
We all love to listen to great stories!
Right now my favorite aspect of homemaking is homeschooling. (Is that part of homemaking?) Other than that, I love organizing. It always gives me such a sense of accomplishment.
The kids would love to listen to Great Speeches in history. It would be an asset to what we’re learning and doing in our speech co-op.
My favorite aspect of homemaking is cooking.
My favorite aspect of homemaking is also my biggest kryptonite, but it’s that I am such a major influence to those in my home, and that I set the tone (you can see why this could be a bad thing! ha)
Yes, our family loves to listen to “radio” shows. We haven’t tried audio books, but would love to!
My favorite aspect of homemaking is preparing meals for my family. To fill their bellies with food that was prepared with so much love is a joy to me.
I really don’t listen to much to audio as I prefer to read. However, how I wished this resource had been available when my youngest son was younger (he is now nineteen). He had such trouble with reading being probably both dyslexic and having processing problems. I will definitely make note of this site.
LOve your stuff and glad its out there. Love your freebies. Thanks!
It would be hard to say which part of homemaking is my favorite right now. I think this video would be wonderful for my new daughter-in-law and our future daughter-in-laws (Lord willing).
This may sound weird but I love doing the laundry!
Right now my favorite aspect of homemaking would probably be baking and learning how to make things (including gifts) from scratch! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!
If I can be honest, I feel like I am a terrible homemaker. I really struggle with most homemaking skills. I do like cleaning bathrooms, I know that is probably really weird. I just love making sure that our bathrooms are shiny and sanitized!! I could use a dvd like this one!
I was raised to be a “career woman” which did not include the profession of homemaking. I now find myself as a full time homemaker and at times I have no idea what I’m doing. I have seen the trailer for this DVD before and I would love the chance to actually watch it! Thanks for the chance!!!
My favorite aspect of homemaking would be baking. I really enjoy baking homemade breads and goodies for my family. It is fun and healthier for us!
About the audio question…I personally prefer to read an actual book compared to listening, but my husband prefers listening to books. It will be interesting to see which our daughter prefers when she gets old enough to read!
My favorite aspect of homemaking is creating a haven for my husband and kids.
We LOVE listening to audios! Jonathan Park and Little Britches are our current favorites.
My favorite homemaking duty is baking… Especially treats!
While trying to think of my favorite aspect of homemaking, I’ve decided to be honest instead of “nice”. I’ve been having a very hard time lately enjoying any aspect of homemaking. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up in a homeschooling, Christian home and desired marriage and children for many years. Now that I have a husband (married 5 years) and children (3 ages 4, 2 1/2, and 6mo.), I’m feeling very overwhelmed with everything that I need to do. Not just the physical aspects, like laundry, dishes, cooking, changing diapers, etc., but the spiritual/ emotional aspects as well. I guess, though, my favorite part of homemaking would be my husband and children. Not “doing” anything, but just being with them. God has really blessed me by giving them to me, and I feel so undeserving and unprepared for all that they need.
Wow, my favorite aspect of homemaking?! Where do I begin? Haha I love knowing that I am caring for my family. Creating. Instilling these things in my children. Teaching them how to DO and not just consume. The list goes on…
I have never heard of the audio school before, but I love the idea. Yes to the first question:) I am looking forward to sitting down with my children & watching the Charles Spurgeon movie that you have unblocked ( thanks for that). I am also looking forward to listening to the podcast you mentioned while I give my kitchen a good clean!
My favourite aspect of homemaking is looking after this precious family that the Lord has given me. I’m not a good homemaker, but I long to improve & I love turning things from messy to neat & the satisfaction that brings!
I am very blessed to be a homemaker and would love to have the video as another resource.
I love spending time with my family. With a few of our children old enough to be on their own, we realize the importance of this is even more evident.
We love audio books. We have to travel hours daily for medical treatments while homeschooling so we get a lot of our homeschooling in the car. Audiobooks sounds like a wonderful resource for us. We have listened to “read alouds” last year and a lot of history this year. We love it all!
My favorite part of homemaking is decorating and organizing, though not under stress. I would like to create a peaceful atmosphere. I really don’t like to cook and would love for someone to help me improve in that area.
LOVE audiobooks. Old time radio, not so much.
I do enjoy listening to audio books and I would love the opportunity for my daughter to one day enjoy them too. I am not familiar with the titles listed. In terms of homemaking, my favorite thing to do is bake. I LOVE baking different treats.
we love audio books! Heidi is a family favorite.
we’d love to listen to Anne of Green Gables
favorite aspect of homemaking: not missing out on time with my kids
It’s so difficult to pick just one aspect of homemaking!! I truly love everything about it! I love to nurture my family, whether it’s with good food, clean clothes, a hug or an encouraging word…its a blessing to be a homemaker.
I love listening to audio books!
We would love the Reformation category, that or the Renaissance or Revolution. But, the Empires also would be nice:)
I love feeling appreciated. When my husband opens a meal he will sometimes say, ” thankful for the hands that prepared it.”
I enjoy listening to the audio theatres that are available on the radio. I work in a local library so I still like to feel the book in my hands.
The ancient and medieval church history sounds very interesting. Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite part of homemaking is cooking.
Yes! We have many downloaded!
We love to listen to audio books while travelling.
I love knowing that I am the keeper of my home, that things would not be able to run as well if I am not diligent in my work, and that my husband enjoys coming home to a happy clean house!
we wnjoy audio books more than radio programs since we always seem to forget what day and time they are on.
There are so many I’d love to have my kids listen to, but King Arthurs Knights pops out first.
I enjoy cooking and baking and coming up with my own recipes.
My favorite aspect of homemaking is baking, especially during this season!
We love audio books. We’ve been listening to the Sugar Creek Gang lately.
The Coral Island by R. M. Ballantyne sounds really interesting. I’m so glad I’ve been introduced to this site. My kids and I will be listening to the freebies, and just might get a subscription soon.
Right now, my favorite aspects of homemaking are canning/preserving and cooking, but also learning to be more self-sufficient and exploring homesteading.
My favorite part of homemaking is organizing. I love organizing things. Sadly, I need to fall in love with homemaking more.
Laundry and baking… especially when it makes someone smile!
My family enjoys audio books! I would choose Stories of Beowulf told to the children by: H.E. Marshall
My favorite part of being a homemaker is knowing that I’m doing the work God has called me to.
Yes, I love gathering the family around to listen to audio stories.
Sergeant Preston of the Yukon.
I really do like cooking and making deserts for my family
love auio books, such a great thing for kids to learn in the car
i love cooking , but baling is my favorite , only homemade breads in our home..
Our family loves audio books. The children also enjoy listening to them alone during quiet times in their room or on trips. I think they would enjoy the Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. However, they would probably enjoy most. Their Home School English is a Charlotte Mason approach, so they are familiar with many classics.
I love being a homemaker. Yes, I do have moments that challenge me to find “love” in it, but overall, I am blessed to have the calling. It would be hard to name my favorite….I love home schooling my childre;, I love baking and knowing almost everything we consume, I prepared from scratch; I love making my home a “home”….a place of refuge and ministry where all who enter feel the love of Christ; I love being a wife, although challenged to always find the energy after a full day and I love being a mother to the two He has so richly blessed me with.
I love being a homemaker, and I am so thankful for resources that help me! I never had any training and am sometimes at a loss. Thank you!
We love audio books! Our library only has a small selection, and not of very good books either. Where have you been all my life, lol?
