Cross Focused Reviews sent me a free copy of this book to read and review.  Parenting on Your Knees by Vicki Tiede (only $.99 on Kindle right now) was a great resource full of valuable nuggets that moms of preschoolers {or younger} could use. I was so thankful for this book at this time in my life. I have two little ones under the age of two, so life here can sometimes be crazy.

The book is divided into five different sections on Character, Development, Social Skills, Behavior, and Spiritual Growth and Salvation. I loved that each chapter in the sections were bite size and could easily be read in five minutes. It was a wonderful read while nursing my two month old Olivia. Parenting on your Knees is also a book that you can pick up and skim to the chapter that pertains to whatever your dealing with. As a bonus to each chapter, Vicki also includes read along book suggestions for children and their parents!

Vicki reminds us to pray for every aspect of our children’s life. Whether it be potty training, manners, sharing, obedience, or friendships. She starts off each chapter with a short story that reiterates the lesson, gives us advice on how to handle that area in a biblical manner, and ends with a short prayer.

I would highly recommend this book to new moms and those that have little ones running around. The chapters will give you solid biblical guidance and wisdom for those those trials and tough moments.

I love quotes, so I thought that I would add a few of my favorite ones:

“I am being obedient to my Father when I “Train up my child in the way that he should go, [so that] even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6).”

“When our children see piles around the house, without intending to we give them the message that messes are all right.”

“Each morning God gives us 24 hours to use for His glory. If we start off the morning on the wrong foot with our preschoolers, we set the tone for the rest of the day. On the other hand, if we are pro-active and meet each morning with the hopes of something wonderful God has planned for us and for our children, then we are sure to enjoy each day’s blessing.”

“Some lessons can’t be learned without shedding a few tears.”
