Your First Visionary Womanhood Gathering: Tips to Get Started (and a special offer!)

If you’ve read the Visionary Womanhood Gatherings eBook, and you’re inspired to start a group in your own community, then this post is for you!  If you haven’t read the book…and you’re curious…read on.  There’s a little surprise for you at the end!

What do I need to get started, and what is it going to cost me?

You don’t need much.  If you are following the two-year plan in the back of the book, the first teaching your group will listen to together is How to Think Like a Christian.  You can get that one of two ways.

  1. Download it for $4.95 on Blue Behemoth.  Copy it to a CD, label it…and you’re good to go!  (It is actually FREE today only!  So take advantage…and save some money!!!)
  2. Purchase a hard copy in a case from Vision Forum for $7 plus shipping.

I put all the teachings we listen to or watch into a “Visionary Womanhood Library” for check out.  The women can check it out if they weren’t able to come to the gathering OR…if their husbands would like to hear it.  This “spreads” the message around and makes the investment go further for the Kingdom.  You will find more information about how to start and administrate a Visionary Womanhood library in the eBook.

On a tight budget?

View this expenditure as a “Kingdom Investment” of giving.  You could request these resources for your birthday or for Christmas.  (That’s what I did for many years!)  Another idea: ask the women in the group if they’d like to pitch in a buck or two to help defray the cost of the resource.  I do promise, that if God wants you to begin a group, He will provide the resources necessary to do so.  God will use your investment to make an eternal impact in the lives of women and their families!

The only other resource you need to begin is the book, Assumptions That Affect Our Lives, by Christian Overman.  And you’ll want to encourage the women in your group to get their copy before the first meeting as well.  This book is the very first “Book Challenge” of the year.  (There are four “excellent reads” per year, and you don’t want to miss a single one!) Again, you’ll be able to find out what eight books will be covered in the two-year plan as well as inspiration for reading them in the Visionary Womanhood Gatherings eBook.

Your group will be spending three months reading and discussing this book…so once you’ve secured your copy, you won’t need to worry about another book investment for a while.  Amazon is no longer carrying this book in stock, but you can buy it used from various sellers…or you can buy it new from christianbook.com.

Giveaways

In November, the VW blog will be giving away a FREE copy of Thinking Like a Christian and Assumptions That Affect our Lives.  All subscribers to VW are automatically entered.  In addition, if you join the private Facebook group,Visionary Womanhood Gatherings...a group set up to support and encourage women involved…you will be able to win free copies over there too!

Another Great Tip:

Blue Behemoth offers free downloads every single day.  In fact, just in the past week, TWO of the teachings that are in the two-year plan were offered for FREE , including Thinking Like a Christian, which is still available today for FREE!  Guess who found out about the free downloads?  Only the women signed up on the Visionary Womanhood Gatherings Facebook group.  That is the venue in which I will be communicating great deals, free items, etc.  It is THE support place if you plan to start a group or be a part of one, so you will want to sign up as soon as possible.
