On Cremation, Temptation, and Cranberry Apple Walnut Cake

Cremation

Hidden deep in the comment section of the Placenta Eating blog article (just hold on…we’ll get to the more palatable Cranberry Apple Walnut cake subject in a minute…) are a couple of excellent links to very helpful articles on the subject of cremation.  If you have never considered this topic from a Christian worldview perspective, you will want to.  Death is around the corner in some form or another for every single one of us, and we need to be prepared for how we will handle the question of how to treat the body.

Randy Alcorn has a very balanced view written up HERE.   Dennis Lindsay has another wonderful article written up in the Christ for the Nations magazine HERE.  Arm yourself with solid thinking on this subject!

Temptation

Fighting temptations anyone?  I do everyday.  Nancy Wilson over at the Femina blog has written up a convicting analysis of the types of temptations that specifically target middle aged women.  It’s a great read, so don’t miss it!

And now for that cake…

Speaking of temptations, I made the most amazing, delectable fall dessert…TWICE in the last two weeks….from a recipe I found over at Keeper of the Home.  Cranberry Apple Walnut Cake.  I’m swooning and drooling as I type this.  It’s my new “go-to” autumn comfort food.  In fact, I think I have to make it again today.  Do your family, your friends, and yourself all a favor, and go get the recipe.

Grace to you,
