Gems in the Web: Debut 10/19/12

The linky thingy really didn’t fly here at Visionary Womanhood.  So after several months of giving it our best shot, we’re calling it quits.  Instead, we’ll try something different, and every other Friday you’ll get some links to terrific articles online.  You know…GEMS.

So here’s our Gems in the Web debut:

1. Do you have sons?  You’ll want to prepare them to find a wife.  Maybe even help them out a bit.  Read about 16 ways you can do so…and have a good laugh at the same time.

2. I love this trailer for a magazine called Seeing the Everyday.

3. Looking for answers to the problem of suffering?  This is The Hardest Lesson.

4. If you’ve ever wished you had a greater thirst for Christ than you do, you’ll appreciate that others are Wishing for that too.

5. And this last one I shared on our Facebook page when I first found it, but it is SO delicious, I just had to share it here too, in case you missed it.  Find out how one SMART, brave student got a bad grade for denouncing feminism.

Have a beautiful week-end, full of hope, joy, and VISION!

  1. Thank you for making the time to share these things. I am not posative what the linky thing is, I may hve gotten involved in “linky” but I appricite the magazine share you have above. Thank you. Evaluating and considering how I spend my imte over the last rew weeks gives me different passions and has showm me how many ways I need to grow. Thank you for having this sight and for being an encouragement to me. These types of blogs is why I have a hard time stopping my time on the internet.

To know how to pray for me today…yesterday I took our two to the park, not a normal weekday event, and met four other moms. We were all in different stages of life and yet I greeted each of them as did our two growing blessings (ages seven and five) and I noticed that I miss sharing the simplicity of Jesus with others. It doesn’t happen at church like I was told it did, and maybe I felt like it did before having children when I did what others told me they needed in the church. I used to freely tell co-workers or other college students about my love for life and my Lord. When another mom asked me if I liked homsechooling I told her I did and that the freedom is wonderfl. Yet, I get so caught up in making sure I am covering all the topics now that they are further along in their schooling. I liked the magazine thing above because it remineded me of that very thing, focusing on the relationships and not only the tasks.

Thank you for your specific prayers for this growing momma of a wonderful God fearing husband, and two amazing growing blessings. Sincerely, Mommhy of two growing blessings & SO much more!

  2. Great post!
I especially was drawn to the Seeing the Everyday trailer….do you have any idea where I might go to subscribe to the magazine?
    Thanks!

  3. Wow, Natalie! My husband and kids all got such a kick about that article by Wetminister Seminary about Courtship Vs. Dating. Definitely a “GEM” in the web. Thanks for the link.
